One of our major clients based in Amstersdam are looking for SQL Server database administrator for an initial 3 months contract paying good hourly rates.

Ensure that all SQL server based services are (including clustering) working as expected.
Management and monitoring of the SQL environment from an infrastructure point of view.
Build new databases due to new demand or migration projects and/remove databases in case of decommissioning
Life cycle and capacity management of the SQL environment
Backup and restore of the SQL server instances
Monitor the successful execution of Microsoft (including SQL server) updates
Perform storage extensions due to space growth
(Re-) configuration of databases and instances
Start and stop instances of take databases offline and online
Perform infrastructural changes if required
Provide support and advice to various stakeholder (like Application Operations)
Document the configuration of the components and keep the documentation up to date as a consequence of updates and changes.
