SQL Server Database Administrator

Our direct client in Austin, TX has an immediate opening for a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA). This is a 7 month contract opportunity, with extensions being highly likely. Local candidates are highly preferred.

REQUIREMENTS:

- 5 years - Experience in Microsoft SQL 2000 or SQL 2005 and Transact SQL 2000 or 2005 development
- 5 years - Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
- 5 years - Knowledge of database development industry best practices and standards (ANSI)
- 5 years - Experience with structured query language (SQL) including writing stored procedures and functions
- 3 years - Knowledge of Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest or Microsoft Visual Source Safe
- 2 years - Knowledge of incremental development methodologies
- Experience with Embarcadero DB Artisan and ER Studio and Oracle 9i or 11g would be helpful

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Serve as a database developer to support the administrative systems using the following development/database tools and knowledge: Transact SQL 2000 or 2005, SQL 2000 or SQL 2005, Structured Query Language (SQL), and ANSI Compliant Standards.
- Develop stored procedures and functions. Develop test cases and code. Create indexes.
- Work closely with developers in database development using these above tools.
- Report activity status to the Project Manager.
