SQL Server Database Administrator

Yoh has a contract opportunity for an opportunity for a DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR in Shelton, CT.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates and creates the design and maintenance of computerized databases
- Supports internal staff by ensuring that the required databases are installed, maintained and available for use
- Provides DBA support to IT projects
- Develops, implements, and reviews database design and stored procedures. Implements database upgrades backups and restores
- Verifies data integrity and performs research and analysis of other DBA's
- Responsible for suitable and reliable backup and recovery methodology
- Recommends and consults with users on access to various databases
- Responsible for quality control
- Trouble shoot and solve complex problems of a project

Skills and Experience:
- Masters Degree
- Administration focused
- Three to five (3-5) years combined experience working with SQL 2005, 2008, or 2012
- depth knowledge and understanding of installation media
- Stand alone and clustered configuration
- In depth understanding of how to perform cluster disk work to add and extend LUNs for the databases from an OS perspective
- Should have a sound working knowledge of the following:
- TSQL/PLSQL
- Stored Procedures
- Database creation
- DB Backups
- DB Restores
- SQL Jobs
- Linked Servers
- MSDTC
- Logins
- Network copies
- SQL Copies (BCP, DTS, SSIS, Bulk)
