SQL Server Consultant (Reporting)

SQL Server Consultant (Reporting) - SQL Server 2005/ 2008/ 2010, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Cubes, Reports - 3 months initially - Manchester - 35-40 per hour

This is an urgent requirement for an experienced SQL Server Consultant to work on the design, development and implementation of a consolidated Reporting solution. The role will involve the design of the database, design of the data cubes and reports and the implementation of the full Reporting solution based on SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS.

SQL Server Consultant Role and Responsibilities:

- Ensure that the appropriate technologies are set up and configured with a best practice approach
- Take responsibility for the overall design and implementation of the full SQL Server environment
- Work with others to define the appropriate interfaces from a variety of legacy systems
- Quality-assure the performance and suitability of a full SQL Server Reporting solution

SQL Server Consultant Skills and Experience:

- Experience of having designed a SQL Server-based Reporting solution "from scratch"
- SQL Server database analysis and design skills (SQL Server 2005, 2008 or 2010)
- Detailed knowledge of SSRS for configuring and development of reports
- Strong SSIS and SSAS skills
- In-depth experience of designing databases, cubes and reports

A key part of the role will be to design and implement the solution with a best-practice approach. Experience of producing high-quality documentation and of working in a structured manner will also be required. The project will be a lengthy one so there is a strong likelihood of extensions
