SQL Production DBA - Salford Quays - 35-45K DOE

A large marketing & analytics specialist based in Salford Quays are looking to hire an experienced SQL DBA to join their large IT team. The Database Administrator must be experienced in a production environment and be an expert in SQL Server (either 2008 R2 or 2012 essential).

Experience Required:

- 5+ years of strong experience in development and administration of relational databases particularly SQL Server 2008 R2 / 2012 and strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practises
- Experience with SSIS and DTS.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012 and hands-on experience in database design, administration, security, concurrency, query optimisation, clustering and performance tuning.
- Experience in the use of Windows Clustering/Networking, Partitioning and indexing
-Expert level knowledge of SQL Server stored procedures, including optimisation of existing complex stored procedures and using stored procedures to accomplish ETL
-Good knowledge of SQL Server 2008 R2 internals and SQL server specific hardware issues and optimisation
-Strong troubleshooting skills required.
-Hands-on implementation of SQL Server scalability methodologies including table partitioning
-Experience with SQL Server on Windows 2008 R2

Initially the successful candidate will act as the team's sole DBA but within 6-12 months this position will grow into a senior-level role and will involve responsibility for mentoring and "team leading" a junior SQL DBA as well.

Strong communication skills are essential for this role as it involves regular contact with the development team (who work in Microsoft .Net / C# technologies) and the position will report in straight to the IT Director.
