SQL Developer Job

SQL DEVELOPER needed for a LONG TERM CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Folsom, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- SQL Developer will manage, manipulate, and query large, complex data in Real Time using SQL and familiar Scripting languages on Hadoop
- SQL Developer will build recommender systems that can help reduce costs, increase profits, improve products, retain customers, and identify new opportunities
- SQL Developer will use Apache Pig, Apache Hive, and Cloudera Impala to enable data transformations and analyses via filters, joins, and user-defined functions from other technologies
- The SQL Developer will be responsible for the development and iteration requests on improving and monitoring databases.
- SQL Developer will also be responsiblee for reporting of import operations.
- Database health may be involved.
- SQL Developer will also troubleshoot, debug, identify and correct problems related to the import of large volumes of data into databases and data warehouses.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BS in EE, CS, MIS or related subject matter.
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven experience with Hadoop and associated Cloudera tools
- Use HBase as a distributed data store to achieve low-latency queries and highly scalable throughput, covering schema design, application writing, configuration, and maintenance
- Advanced skills for debugging and optimizing MapReduce programs and for the Apache ecosystem projects Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Flume, Oozie, and Mahout

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Prefer candidates with background in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) development.
- Experienced in developing triggers, stored procedures, SSIS Packages, and advanced data development skills.
