KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL JOIN A LARGE TEAM THAT SPECIALISES IN DEVELOPING TAILORED BILLING AND REPORTING SOLUTIONS FOR LARGE CUSTOMERS WITHIN A DATAWAREHOUSE ENVIRONMENT.
- As a DEVELOPMENT SQL DBA, you will be required to work as a part of DATABASE DEVELOPMENT TEAM TO MAINTAIN THE SQL SERVER IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND TEST ENVIRONMENT.
- Analysing complex customer problems and requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
- MAINTAIN SQL SERVER IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND TEST ENVIRONMENT which include installation, configure, apply up to date service packs, organise security and user permission.
- Deploy database changes mainly using Team Foundation Server and configure environmental events.
- Advice environmental issues for production deployment as part of deployment process.
- Restore and backup different databases, scheduling, keep up to date maintenance plan.
- Find and tuning database performance issues and advice developers accordingly.
- Work as part of a team committed to the development, maintain and deploy using SQL Server and Team Foundation Server.
- Development and review other developers code to make sure business requirements, technical specification and specified coding standards are meet.
- Focus on developing code which can be reused in order to minimise rework.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

- 5+ YEARS DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE WITH SQL SERVER 2005 OR UPPER VERSION.
- EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH AS A DBA SUPPORTING MICROSOFT SQL SERVER 2005, 2008 WITHIN A CORPORATE ENVIRONMENT.
- EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH TRANSACT SQL, STORED PROCEDURES, SSIS PACKAGE, DATA TRANSFORMATION SERVICES, SQL PROFILER AND SQL EXECUTION PLAN.
- Proven database administration (DBA) EXPERIENCE IN MS SQL SERVER; INCLUDING INSTALLATION AND SETUP OF SQL SERVER INSTANCES, KEEP UPDATE WITH LATEST SERVICE PACKS.
- Experience working with SQL Server database backup/restore, scheduling, maintenance plan and recover the database in different stage.
- Advance understanding of Database Engine and other components of SQL Server. Well understanding the performance issue and different tools/way to tuning to handle large volume of data.
- EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH T-SQL PROGRAMMING, WRITING STORED PROCEDURE, TRIGGERS AND VIEWS.
- A GOOD UNDERSTANDING ABOUT SQL SERVER ARCHITECTURE AND FUNCTIONALITY OF DIFFERENT COMPONENTS LIKE DATABASE ENGINE, ANALYSIS SERVICES, INTEGRATION SERVICES.
- A good understanding about DATAWAREHOUSE concept including ETL process and Reporting Services.
- A clear understanding of SSIS PACKAGE ARCHITECTURE, different execution and deployment processes.
- WORKING EXPERIENCE WITH SQL SERVER SERVICE BROKER AND REPORTING SERVICE.
- Basic understanding about new features of SQL Server 2012.Qualifications.
- Microsoft Certification in SQL Server trace is highly desirable.
