SQL DBA

Background
Capita are recruiting for a SQL DBA to work with a central government client on a contract basis. This role is based in Taunton. This role requires SC Clearance and preference will be given to candidates with SC Clearance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
* To provide technical support for the MS SQL and Ingres databases which are supported by the Database Administration Team. This includes such activities as ensuring security and resilience of the databases so as to provide a service in accordance with the relevant SLAs. To provide technical input into projects, to help design the most appropriate systems with regard to security, resilience, functionality etc. Input to the strategic direction of developing, maintaining and upgrading SQL databases

Skills/Experience Required
Significant experience of MS SQL Server database administration (Versions 2000, 2005 and 2008) Good working knowledge of Good working knowledge of Windows Server 2003 thru 2008 R2 system administration Oracle database administration (Versions 10g and 11g). Significant experience of Oracle 11g Grid Control.
