This is an 100% SQL Server Database Admin to do performance tuning and troubleshooting for a very large, but local, employee-owned retail company!

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Installation, configuration, administration and management of Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2/2012, SSRS, and SSIS Servers
- Responsible for the installation, configuration, administration and management of Oracle 11g database Servers
- Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the production SQL Server databases
- Database security, integrity, reliability, high availability and disaster recovery solutions
- Monitoring file system space, determine database allocation, and proactively plan for increased capacity and scalability

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

- Expert understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) and Transact-SQL (T-SQL)
- Experience with virtual environments (preferably VMware/ESX) and SQL clustered environments
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages
- Exposure to Resource Governor, Tuning Advisor, SQL Profiler and Windows Reliability and Performance Monitor
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires team interaction and coordination
- Excellent communication skills to including technical writing
- Ability and willingness to expand knowledge and experience base
- Ability to be detail oriented and to prioritize and complete assigned tasks within required deadlines
- Exceptional problem solving and decision making capabilities, including troubleshooting technical issues, successfully resolving project issues and challenges, and developing creative solutions for process improvement and understanding user requirements
- Strong understanding of database schema objects management, data modelling and architecture
