SPLUNK ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT TIME opportunity with Yoh's client located in CREVE COEUR, MO.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- The position is responsible for Splunk infrastructure including forwarder configuration, deployment, search heads, indexing, and data source configurations.
- Serve as a Tools Management Team member, responsible for the design, implementation, and support of Splunk.
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes. Review and monitor incident management, incident escalation, and incident resolution issues.
- Writes and executes well, thought-out proof of concept documents.
- Work closely with Infrastructure support teams to diagnose and resolve configuration issues.
- Develop, implement, and document configuration standards, policies, and procedures for operating, managing, and ensuring the security of the Splunk infrastructure.
- Provide on-call (rotation) support for Splunk as required.
- Works closely with architecture and support teams to develop comprehensive infrastructure solutions. Orchestrates and configures BMC BladeLogic Server Automation Suite.
- Executes well, thought-out proof of concept documents. Responsible for provisioning, patching, and managing of heterogeneous Servers according to policy.
- Measures and demonstrates software compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Manages physical and virtual environments from a unified management platform.
- Work closely with UNIX, Linux and Windows server administration teams to diagnose and resolve configuration issues.
- Hands-on support of Windows, Linux and/or AIX in large, enterprise environment. Basic project management skills. Desired experience in EMC Clarion, NetApp, BlueArc, Snapshots, iSCSI, FCOE, Fibre Channel, NFS, CIFS. (Usually requires 3 to 5 years of experience.)

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING INTO THE TABLE:

- Strong skills and proven experience with Splunk are a must for this position. Broad Operating System (Windows and Linux) skills as well as experience with a variety of database and Middleware platforms is also preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience developing and supporting Splunk.
- Experience with Gitlabs a plus
- Hands-on support in large, dynamic Enterprise IT environment (500+ Servers).
- Working knowledge of hardware platforms.
- Working knowledge of Server Scripting Languages
- Expert at root cause analysis, problem solving, and resolution.
- Strong interpersonal, team, negotiation, communication, and customer service skills.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Splunk Application development experience is a plus.
