SPLUNK DEVELOPER | BRUSSELS (2 OR 3 DAYS A WEEK) | €400 - €475/DAY
One of the world's best known and renowned technology companies is growing their Big Data function. As such they are looking for a Splunk Developer to oversee their global data analytics platform.
SUMMARY
Actively develop, use and maintain global data analytics platform based on Splunk, Elasticsearch and SQL databases, processing millions of log events per second providing both a close to Real Time and historical view into the Security Operations of applications and systems. Work on high performance Real Time data indexes, a large historical data store, an extensive set of lookup files and various intermediate (No)SQL data repositories. Design and implement a variety of different use cases to support the business.

- Great interpersonal skills and common sense approach
- Creative, dynamic, open minded, pro-active and enthusiastic
- Able to self-control working day in an environment with a lot of freedom (work from home)
- Able to work quickly, under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good analytic skills
- Strong problem-solving and organization skills
- Strong attention to detail
Technical skills
- Be a specialist in Splunk Processing Language (SPL) able to design and customise complex search queries
- Able to optimize queries, use data models and summary indexes in appropriate way to ensure searches run in most efficient and cost effective way
- Ability to design Splunk reports and dashboards using complex data elements.
- Design, develop, and apply advanced statistical methods and machine learning algorithms when deemed necessary for the use case
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with software development and advanced OS Scripting is a plus
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL is a plus
- Good understanding of Linux Operating Systems
