Your new company
For our R&D-IT Domain, we are looking for a Splunk Specialist. In this role, you will be working in the R&D Design Infrastructure Services. The Design environment comprises a complex landscape of EDA Applications supported by High Performance compute/storage environments consolidated in 5 regional datacenters. The design environment is used by over 7000 designers located over 40+ premises. The state-of-the-art infrastructure has over 15000 cores and 10+ PBytes of data, serving over 2000plus CAD applications & versions. The operational service teams are located globally to cover 24/7 support.

Your new role
As a Splunk Back End specialist you are responsible for deploying/developing new and existing Splunk platforms. You will be part of a project team which is driving the implementation of Splunk as an analytics solution for the R&D IT department.

Your main activities will be:

- Advise on Splunk platform changes keeping in mind availability, security and performance
- Draft/update technical design documentation
- Deployment of additional Splunk components (both OS and Splunk Software) such as indexers, search heads and heavy forwarders
- Migrating developed Splunk apps from test/acceptance environments to production
- Additional data onboarding

What you will need to succeed
In order to be a successful Splunk Back End specialist you require the following:

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- 5-8 years' experience, 2 years Splunk experience
- Reverse web-proxying & load-balancing with NGINX
- RedHat Linux Server OS
- AWS IaaS hosting
- Splunk Heavy forwarders, indexers & search heads in a scale-out set-up
- Project language: English

OTHER SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

- Experience with Ansible (Tower) is a big pre, as it is being used as the deployment automation mechanism for the Splunk environment
- Knowledge & experience with Splunk ITSI & developing custom Splunk ITSI apps for service monitoring is a big pre
- Experienced in working in an Agile managed project environment

SOFT SKILLS

- Ability to think in on a conceptual level
- Design skills (both high- as low-level)
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage and prioritize requirements
- Team player, also works well with people that have a different (technical) background
- Focus on the end-goal
- Not to formal with a sense of humor
