A top-tier investment bank is looking for an experienced Business analyst

Core Purpose:

This position is for contractor resource to help build 2 key processes for:

(1)the Product Unit Costing (PUC) process / model. This process provides a key input in to the NPV calculations used by the various Product Finance Business Partners in their product profitability models.

(2) the Below the Line process for LBG Cost Management Unit reporting. Driven by the CMU requirement for ATL/BTL reporting this colleague will help develop the actual entries.

Key Accountabilities:

* Responsible for development, build and roll out the Product Unit Costing (PUC) methodologies and Above the Line and Below the Line (ATL/ BTL) methodologies ensuring they are 'fit for purpose' and are approved by Product Finance stakeholders and impacts on GDRS and associated processes
* Work with the Planning team and Product Finance FBPs to ensure the various PUC Forecasting deliverables are completed in a timely and efficient manner

* Completely month analysis to split the cost base into the ATL/ BTL categories to a sub-CMU level.
* Complete the required journals to take this split through into the ledger on a monthly basis.

* Support the Planning and Reporting manager to ensure the splits are consistent with budget, articulating variances and recommending corrective action as required

* Establish processes with the Finance Business Partners to support any detailed analysis required to support Retainco Finance and CMU queries.

* Provide regular status updates to management on progress of build
* Build a high level understanding of the cost base and splits to ensure that initial questions from Retainco Finance and CMU colleagues can be answered
* Provide technical support and assistance to the business, using own judgement as to when more complex queries require escalation
* Demonstrate core values and behaviours as an active team member
* Liaise with FBPs and Business to agree dependencies (eg, data feeds, hands in and out)
* Responsible for producing supporting documents (eg, maintenance guide, user operating procedure, data flow)

Essentials

* Strong PowerPoint skills with ability to use as a core communication tool
* Strong Excel skills
* Proven stakeholder management skills
* Ability to drive and implement change

Good to have

* Analytical and numerate - ability to rapidly absorb, review and refine new concepts
* Good prioritisation and planning skills

* Working knowledge of access
* Experience of SAP
* Experience of Hyperion Planning system
