Specialist Polymer Analysis
Mission Description
Performs analyses on polymeric drug intermediates.
Performs typically the following types of analysis: Gel Permeation Chromatography, Ionic Exchange Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, HPLC and other polymer analyses. Analyses results with readiness to criticize and ensures the consistency of these results with earlier data if relevant.
Analytical chemistry with experience in polymer analysis is required
Operational
Performs analyses in the framework of pharmaceutical development projects.
Performs analyses on polymeric drug intermediates.
Performs typically the following types of analysis: Gel Permeation Chromatography, Ionic Exchange Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, HPLC and other polymer analyses.
Analyses results with readiness to criticize and ensures the consistency of these results with earlier data if relevant.
Takes part in the development and qualification of new analytical methods.
Masters the computer software in use at the laboratory (eg Empower).
Monitors the documentation associated with the analytical laboratory activities.
Read and Write in English.
Quality
Makes sure to have received and understood all the information and instructions required for the tasks before starting work.
Respects the procedures and reports any discrepancies to the responsible.
Respects and properly maintains the analytical equipment and facilities at disposal.
Performs double check within the team
Good communication skills.
Resourceful.
In short, the contractor will work within the Analytical Sciences for Pharmaceuticals department and will support the Chemical Process Research & Development team and also Manufacturing by performing analyses on drug intermediates.
Needs to be able to work in team, under the supervision of a scientist. The number of team members will depend on the project.
The candidate needs to be autonomous, well-organized and think pro-actively.
He/she needs as well to show the necessary self-reflection on the data gathered.
He/she does not need to make any autonomous decisions, as he will need to consult with the scientist, but needs to be creative when his/her activities lead him/her,to adapt procedures or even develop new analysis methods.
Specific professional/technical and key skills required
Master/Bachelor/graduate A1: analytical chemistry with experience in polymer analysis.
Experience: polymer analysis, LC/GC techniques. Pharma background is not mandatory.
Mandatory skills: team player, exp. in a similar position/environment, compliant/rigorous (understands the importance of following procedures)
Flexibility: need to combine multiple tasks
Language skills
English: able to read/write scientific documents
French: mandatory/fluent
