My client, a leading automotive manufacturer based in Multiple Sites, West Midlands, is looking to recruit a Specialist Engineer for their Powertrain division on a long term contract basis.

Position: Specialist Engineer

Position Description:
SVO Powertrain is a developing Department responsible for all SVO performance Powertrain systems. The role includes development of project specifications and costs for Powertrain systems for SVO products. Development of technical system and implementation during the delivery of the project.

Key responsibilities;
develop system definition to meet technical system requirements. Define costs and plan for the delivery of the system. System definition will involve integrations of base engine, PTSE, Transmission and drive line systems Technical support during the delivery of the project through to production Defining physical package of the systems and how the integrate with the vehicle Delivery of PS deliverables on all SVO projects.

Skills Required:
System definition of Powertrain systems. Familiarity with vehicle installation requirements & powertrain functionality would be useful. Good Communication skills are essential to support a good working relationship with the Lead Engineers to allow the component package and design to be developed efficiently. Root cause analysis of complex engineering systems. Capable of defining systems using engineering first principals.

Experience Required:
Work in systems definition of complex engineering systems in Automotive, Aerospace or other complex engineering area. Engine calibration or base engine P&E experience. Motorsport powertrain development.

Education Required:
HNC in an Engineering discipline is required.

Education Preferred:
Degree in an engineering discipline.

Additional Information:
The Team are based between Whitley and Gaydon and travel between these areas will be required
