Working as a Specialist Dietician the successful post holder will ensure a dietetic service of the highest quality is provided. You will be working to meet the different the requirements of all service users.

Duties and Responsibilities
•Provide specialist nutrition advice to patients, their careers and HCPs through formulation of treatment and education plans and prescription of nutrition support
•Using specialised knowledge to manage an adult caseload in haematology, haematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT), head and neck oncology, general oncology and complex nutritional support in adults
•Comparing normal nutritional requirements and interpreting these for the patient according to their disease process to initiate and maintain a treatment plan
•Attend ward rounds and MDT meetings to take part in the decision-making about the patient's clinical care
•Liaise with and provide the catering department with expert advice on special diets and arrange the provision of specific dietary items or modifications to ensure patients nutritional needs are met
•To use advanced cognitive behavioural therapy, reassurance and motivational skills to negotiate, motivate and counsel patients, their carers and other HCPs to help overcome barriers to change especially in situations of non-compliance.

Skills & Experience
•Extensive post registration clinical experience
•This must include at least two years' experience in the specialist area of Dietetics
•Sound knowledge of current issues relating to specialist area of Dietetics
•Experience in undertaking and supervising clinical audit and/or research
•Evidence of CPD eg professional portfolio
•Experience in training student dietitians/other HCP's
•Four year degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent
•Health Professions Council registered
