Special Educational Needs Officer - Monitoring & Transition

My local authority client is currently looking for Special Educational Needs Officer with experience in post 16 education on an interim basis. (3-6 months)

The role will be to raise levels of educational achievement of pupils with statements of special educational needs and promote the safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion of pupils with special educational needs.

Responsibilities will also include:

- Developing bespoke arrangements for the education of children and young people with complex needs
- Ensuring efficient and effective transition arrangements.
- Overseeing and provide consultancy to staff undertaking Section 139a Learning Difficulty Assessments
- Leading and supporting the LA response to challenges to decisions, including representing the LA at SEN and Disability Tribunal

In order to be considered for this role, you must have experience and insight into SEN post 16, working within a LA, college or post 16 setting. It would also be highly advantageous if you had previous Tribunal experience however they will consider someone who is highly motivated to do the Tribunal work.

They will consider candidates on a full or part time basis.
