Speaking Dutch or French Operation Engineer

Proteus Europe is searching for an Operations Engineer available to work in a long term contract for one of our clients in Belgium

Your New role:-

As Operations Engineer, you will work in a dynamic team of internal and external staff. Daily tasks include managing 70+ applications in the field of train ticket sales, server maintenance and Middleware of various external and internal sites. The Servers run both on Linux and Windows. The team works closely with Infrabels ICT specialists, which ensure the housing of the hardware and the network.
The challenge for the near future is to help as Operations Engineer to automate everything as much as possible to deliver the customer faster and more efficiently and to increase production stability. This will be the main pillar for the coming year.

Tasks:
- You actively assist in further automating the entire process of setting up virtual Servers, ie. the deployment of components.
- You are responsible for configuring and maintaining application Servers.
- You take care of all of the applications within the test, acceptance, pre production and production environment
- You write and maintain the documentation of your developments and procedures.
- You are responsible for the availability and performance of the solutions.
- You assist and collaborate with the developers in diagnosing problems in different environments (from test to production)

Your Skills and experience:-

Essential Skills:-

You have at least a few years of professional experience with Linux Servers (windows is a plus).

Languages:

An active knowledge of Dutch and/or French is an advantage.
Technical knowledge of English.

- IBM and DELL Servers
- Scripting (bash/Perl/python/powershell)
- configuration management (ansible)

- Apache/IIS/Varnish/Sitecore

Availability:

You are willing to provide a waiting service with remote intervention (mobile phone + portable PC wait service)
