SOX - Accounting

My client, based in Stamford, Connecticut, are looking for a SOX specialist for an initial 3 month contract paying up to $22 per hour. They successful candidate does not need more than a year or two's worth of experience in this field so if you feel this position is too junior, please do pass on to anyone you know that may be interested.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Reports organization's finances to management, and offers suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. (1-3 years experience)

This assignment will involve working alongside the Finance Controls team to execute SOX Effectiveness testing over Information Technology General and Application controls for meeting an internal deadline. The individual will report to the Finance Controls IT Manager and ensure appropriate validation of control effectiveness with documented evidence of testing and identified deficiencies.
