Sourcing Buying Specialist

Buyer/Sourcing Fulfilment Specialist/Expeditor/Progress Chaser required for a world leading Aerospace/Aviation company based in Cheltenham to support the supply chain function and purchasing function in the procurement of Mechanical and Electrical Components. These are three separate positions required for the same company.

BUYER

Will be responsible for the management of supplier performance to ensure suppliers support the business needs. The buyer will work with the commodity and program sourcing teams to ensure robust supply chains are established to support business needs.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage complex and strategic supplier relationships
- Maintain timely release of Schedule amendments and other documents and maintain good order book management
- Status reporting and ensuring supplier delivery commitments are understood and communicated to the business

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a HNC in a business related subject and at least 5 years of experience in sourcing Electronics or Mechanical production material)
- Willingness to travel to suppliers up to 20% is required
- In depth knowledge of aerospace product quality assurance requirements
- Knowledge of the sourcing field including International Trade Controls, FAR clauses

SOURCING FULFILMENT SPECIALIST

Will be responsible for the management of supplier performance to ensure that the suppliers support the business needs. The Fulfilment Specialist will work with the commodity and program sourcing teams to ensure robust supply chains are established to support business needs.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Managing complex and strategic Buyer relationships- Using established Quality & Delivery metrics conduct regular supplier performance reviews, producing documented action plans to drive performance improvement
- Maintain "timely" release of schedule amendments, shipping notices, and other required documents
- Status Reporting and Ensure supplier delivery commitments are understood and communicated to the business

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a HNC in business related subject with at least 3 years of experience in a Sourcing role)
- Willingness to travel to suppliers up to 20% is required.
- Knowledge of aerospace product quality assurance requirements and aftermarket support
- Knowledge of the sourcing field

EXPEDITOR/PROGRESS CHASER

The role requires processing stock movement, receive store and issue goods to meet customer and company requirements. Ensuring all goods, materials, parts and assemblies are stored in a controlled and compliant to the specifications required

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensuring the delivery and control of supplier materials and spares by keeping spares progress tracking requisition up to date, liaising with logistics and suppliers on a daily basis and keeping records up to date to maintain system integrity
- Chasing problem demands to an agreed resolution on a case by case basis, researching and chasing these problem demands to ensure compliancy

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

- Experience within the engineering sector or an engineering of manufacturing environment
- Ideally would have Aerospace experience
