SOLVENCY II NON-LIFE DELIVERY SUPPORT - BRUSSELS

Our client, within the insurance industry, is urgently looking for a English-speaking (with knowledge of French and Dutch) SOLVENCY II NON-LIFE DELIVERY SUPPORT CONSULTANT to work in their headquarters.

The mission is related to the IMAP (Internal Model Application Process) for the Non-life UW risk. To this end, Group has produced a full documentation on the internal model and a group manual for the Non-life Best Estimate.

The internal model is unique across the group while the parameterisation is specific to each Entity but group has given guidelines to the entities: for example, they can choose a distribution amongst a pre-defined range of distributions.

Best estimate models are entity specific. The entities need to be aligned with this group Manual when calculating their Best Estimate and will make reference as much as possible to this manual in their local documentation.

THE ROLE

Role of the Solvency II Non-Life Delivery Support for this mission is:

- To complete the internal model documentation

o The overall appropriateness of the distributions proposed has been investigated and documented, however Group should include in the documentation guidelines on what is expected from the entities when assessing the appropriateness of the distributions for their specific portfolios.

o Expert judgment: (a standard template on how to report exist) Group should set-up a more formalised control framework according to the materiality.

- To update the IMAP existing documentation by retrofit of the existing technical documents already discussed and approved.
- To Help AGEAS group in the organisation of two exercises that will take place in 2014 across entities

o Benchmarking of the BE local tools with the reserving actuaries of the AGEAS entities with exchange of triangles and with the organisation of a workshop where best practice will be shared and consistency checks will be done

o Definition and calibration of Man-Made CAT scenarios with the Business experts and Modellers of the different entities.

- To help in the preparation of Board presentations on the BE Non-life (A compilation of slides already exist).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

- Non-Life Actuary 10 years' experience with experience in Reserving & Capital modelling
- Knowledgeable in Solvency II
- Hands-on experience with working in a(n international) group
- Able to work in and respect a predefined planning in concert with the project manager
- Ability to challenge local practices in order to minimise the gaps and to maximise alignment with group documentation
- "Manage" multiple stakeholders
- Good Report Writer/preparation of presentations to Boards
- Design and run work shops

- Good resolver of issues
- Given the reduced mission term, able to distinguish major issues from minor topics and to escalate these immediately through appropriate channels
- Effective chair of meetings
- Good networking
- Strong cognitive and analytical capabilities
