SOLUTIONS DESIGNER/ANALYST - BANKING

A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY HAS JUST ARISEN FOR A SOLUTIONS DESIGNER/ANALYST TO WORK FOR A MAJOR RETAIL BANK IN EDINBURGH ON AN INITIAL 6 MONTH CONTRACT.

My client is currently looking for an experienced, driven and ambitious Solutions Designer to work within the Data and Analytics services in Edinburgh.

This is an excellent opportunity for any Solutions Designer/Analyst with extensive experience and Knowledge of End to End Design and knowledge of Ecommerce or mobile banking and a background in working in financial services to join a world renowned nationwide financial organisation with a fantastic working environment and ethos. THE CANDIDATE'S MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WITH THIS ROLE INCLUDE:

- Produce solution designs for key initiatives in Data & Analytics
- Represent Data & Analytics in wider, cross-platform initiatives across the bank
- Review solution designs produced by peers.
- Produce high level design patterns and principles for Data and Analytics Technology Design
- Create options and recommendations papers for adoption of technology components that align to clear business problems or opportunities
- Ensure that the Business Use cases/requirements and user journey definitions are acceptable for a design to be progressed.
- Collaborate closely with the Data Delivery design team on designs that touches the Enterprise Data Warehouse
- Serve as the primary contact for all questions throughout the design life cycle and then remain a contact for suitable questions during delivery.
- Mentor and develop a junior level staff in the team

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

- Experience in designing 1 or more of the following components of Information Systems:
- Experience of end to end design
- Sourcing & ETL, modelling a data warehouse
- BI & Analytics, Big Data and NoSQL
- Decision Systems experience- Pega, Chordiant or equivalent
- Portal technologies
- Rapid Application Development technologies
- Ability to understand complex data requirements and challenge assumptions
- Self motivated willing to drive the work forward on his/her own initiative.
- Knowledge of RBS systems and data would be useful but is not essential.
- Knowledge of the Project Lifecycle process (eg RBS Connect 4 Change).
- Good communication and presentation skills

Technical Knowledge:

- Knowledge of data warehousing, theories, principles and best practices
- Teradata, SAS & Informatica knowledge
- Hadoop and NoSQL knowledge
- Rapid Web Application development & Portal technologies
- Decision Systems experience - PEGA and Chordiant. Experience in Pega 7 NBAM or similar
