This position closes at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 29th, 2013.
This is a 6 month contract opportunity.Overview
Our Client requires a Solution Designer Exchange (Messaging) Support resourse.
The scope of work entails the assessment and design of a global Exchange 2013 environment with ~30,000 mailboxes and accompanying email archive solution. This will include the collection of functional and non-functional requirements for Exchange 2013 and translating those into an application layer design that will support those requirements while meeting Microsoft and industry best practices. The candidate will also be expected to make sizing recommendations around the infrastructure that Exchange 2013 and the email archive will be built upon as well as provide input into discussions around the size and skill set of the operational team that would be needed to manage the production environment long term.
The contract may be renewed in order for the candidate to participate in building, testing, deploying and migrating users into the production environment.Role and Responsibilities
With regard to architecting a global Exchange 2013 environment, accompanying email archive solution and a draft migration schedule from Exchange 2007 to 2013: - Lead 1x1 and group discussions for the purposes of attaining functional and non-functional requirements
- Creation of Visio diagrams to clearly communicate proposed architecture
- Working with the PM, creation of a formal architectural proposal specifying the proposed Exchange and archive solution with supporting data and arguments as well as sizing recommendations.
- Participation in various project meetings (status, advisory board, steering committee)
- Provide Exchange 2013 expertise to stakeholders to enable their better understanding of the product's capabilities, limitations, dependencies and requirements.
- Provide input regarding: i) Design migration mechanisms from current email system (Exchange 2007) to Exchange 2013 ii) Design integration of existing personal mail store (PST) files into Exchange 2013 iii) Design monitoring and management of Exchange 2013
- Design daily/weekly/monthly task guides for operational team members.
Qualifications
Required Skills - Proven track record of delivering quality results within agreed upon deadlines
- 10 years of specific experience
- Excellent organizational and time management skills - must be able to plan/manage multiple concurrent projects
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal. Must be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Adaptive work style that is able to handle multiple priorities, competing demands, and function in a fast paced, changing work environment.
- Experience leading teams in a Matrix organization structure
- Excellent judgment, decision making skills, and the ability to work under continual deadline pressure.
Desired skills:
- Good understanding of integrated Oil and Gas business domain
- Good understanding of project management and project delivery methodologies
- Formal Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange training
- Microsoft Exchange 2010 Certification
- Exchange 2013 architecture and production deployment experience.
