Solution Designer/Architect

Our client is currently looking for an experienced Solution Architect/Designer with 5+ years experience.

This is essentially a role that is initially focussed on detailed design role and will subsequently move into a role supporting the development and implementation.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

TECHNOLOGY BACKGROUND

- Java, Web services, Integration using ETL tools, Exposure to integration using Tibco, Exposure to interfacing with GDW

SOLUTION DESIGN

- Lead and manage solution design outcomes, the development of design documentation, and obtain approval from key application stakeholders for large and complex programs of work to ensure that solutions are 'fit for purpose', take into account the requirements of different application stakeholders and alignment to the guiding principles and compliance to the solution documented in the High Level design document
- Manage the resolution of design decisions and issues through the solution design and delivery phases for high risk and large and complex programs of work to ensure timely identification and resolution of design issues and decisions
- Apply high-level expertise knowledge of systems to inform Architecture and Solutions Design on optimal designs and appropriate compromises to ensure high quality solutions are delivered to the business
- Review detailed design of third party/downstream systems and verify alignment of the design with the High level design ensuring that design principles and guidelines are adhered to

PARTNER AND VENDOR MANAGEMENT:

- Liaise with executive and senior stakeholders (Business, Architecture, Security and Operations) to ensure strong relationships are maintained, and business, technology requirements and solutions are understood

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

- Work with a team of Solutions Designers when necessary, in accordance with defined people principles and processes and build a strong working relationship with them to ensure that the team delivers the right solutions to achieve business objectives
