Solution Design Lead (Infrastructure)

SOLUTION DESIGN LEAD (INFRASTRUCTURE)

A Solution Design Lead (Infrastructure) is urgently required for a long-term, lucrative contract position with a market leading client based in Zurich, some travel within Switzerland is required.

The Solution Design Lead (Infrastructure) will ideally have 65% + of the following skills and experience:

- Very strong (10 years +) experience in a similar role working with monitoring and control
- Good experience with: HAWK, SNMP Plugin, TEA
- Good experience with HP OM and vCenter
- GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS OF IT INFRASTRUCTURE
- MS Office and MS Visio
- Excellent knowledge of monitoring concepts on all layers from infrastructure to business activity
- Good knowledge of maintenance and operations of IT infrastructure
- Able to effectively communicate to collaboratively develop target situations
- Knowledge of virtualization platforms eg VMware (nice to have)
- Experience with Business Activity Monitoring tools such as nJAMS (nice to have)
- Experience with other TIBCO products such as EMS and Business Works (nice to have)
- English speaker, German and/or French speakers are preferred

The Solution Design Lead (Infrastructure) will be responsible for activities including:

- Lead the solution design work; report to the project manager
- Define the detailed approach to conduct the work in collaboration with the project manager
- Identify any additional experts needed
- Through discussion with stakeholders - collect, understand, monitor & control requirements
- Review the proposed solution (from the supplier) regarding scope of monitoring & control
- Define and assess the solution options based on the requirements and the best usage of the existing toolchain - (HP Operations Manager, TIBCO HAWK, vCenter) in relation to moving to nJAMS
- Perform technical SWOT analysis on proposed alternatives
- Recommend and prepare the decision-making process together with the project manager
- Provide the detailed solution design to realize the recommendation
