*** SOLUTION ARCHITECT (SOA) - EDINBURGH - 3 MONTHS - £600-£700pd ***

Our Edinburgh based client has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Solution Architect for an initial 3 month contract.

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Design Assurance, the Solution Architect will be primarily responsible for:

* Reviewing Use Cases and related requirements documents for technical feasibility and logical consistency
* Documenting the High Level Design for a set of feature Use Cases.
* Applying SOA design principles to the identification of services and service operations exposed by the services layer
* Applying OO design principles and best practice to the definition of components deployed within Fuse (Task, Entity and Utility services)
* Securing TDA approval of the High Level Design
* Defining the Java Domain Model and mapping to Oracle relational database using JPA
* Ensuring Engineering Patterns are appropriately documented and applied and new patterns are developed as required
* Producing specifications for interaction with external systems
* Supporting the generation of UI wireframes and reviewing the output
* Communicating the design to the development team
* Peer reviewing other High Level Designs
* Producing business rule set specifications
* Assessing the design impact of change requests.

Essential skills

* Strong Java development / design background with a minimum of 3 years' experience in leading and documenting design
* Strong communication skills
* OO Design and UML expertise in class diagrams, use case diagrams, sequence diagrams, etc.
* Logical Data Modelling
* Service specification within a SOA.
* Experience in Object Relational Mappers and in Java Domain Modelling
* Ability to coach application designers and technical leads, communicating design and supporting low level design performed by development team.
* Experience of iterative development methodologies.
