Solution Architect - Multiple Roles - June 2013 Contract

A fantastic opportunity has become available for experienced Solution Architects within a Government Department for a long-term contract role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- To develop strategies and frameworks, defining target solution architecture that encompasses business and applications;
- Assess and shape solution integration across a range of enterprise systems;
- Provide Technical leadership and architecture skills in large scale ICT change initiatives and organise the development effort of a systems solution;
- Demonstrate high level relationship management skills, including the ability to effectively engage and manage a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders; and
- Act as a bridge between Enterprise context, business domain and the project design.

SKILLS:

- Demonstrated experience in data warehousing, including normalised data layers, data marts, both historical and current state;
- Demonstrated experience across a range of hardware and software platforms, including: SQL Server; Teradata; Oracle; SAS; SIEBEL; M204 Mainframe;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas verbally and in writing to executive staff, business sponsors and technical resources, in a clear and concise manner;
- Demonstrated ability to define estimates for task duration and commitment to meeting agreed timelines, working with limited supervision in a team environment;
- Demonstrated experience in transforming functional analysis into an initial solution; and
- Demonstrated ability in strategic thinking, specifically around technology and solution roadmaps.
