THE POSITION

The Innovation and Cross Functional Solutions Team at our customer is looking for a highly skilled Solution Architecture Expert.

We are looking for an individual with strong technical expertise, proven leadership competencies, customer focus, experience in working in global environments and ability to challenge conventional thinking.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Assigned as a Solution Architect (SA) on the SIM PROGRAM (SMART INFORMATION MANAGEMENT); you are accountable for the development, documentation, review and approval of assigned SIM Architecture deliverables

Recommend technological solutions that fit the clients' needs, capabilities, urgency and culture, proactively identifying and creating opportunities with broad input

Own development and alignment of Solution Architecture across SIM projects according to program principles: searchXs Google Search Across Systems; IDM Integrated Document Management; SWA Study Workflow Automation; MODS Master and Operational Data Standards; and GDSR Global Data Standards Repository; Reporting and Analytics

Collaborate closely with Lead SIM Architect and broaden SA coverage for SIM, managing European time-zone (SWA, MODS, GDSR), internal software development center and third party (external) development

Translate SIM and the Product Development Roadmap principles into directions (and oversight) for SIM projects

On GDSR & SWA, ensure Model Driven principles are implemented appropriately and oversee external deliverables

On MODS, ensure master data service is aligned with Product Development Roadmap vision and work to effectively partner with downstream impacted systems solution architects in order to facilitate faster uptake of master data service over point to point connections.

Work with SP&A to insure proper registration/catalog of web services and comply with current best practice.

Long term delivery of target architecture for SIM 2.0 (IDM, searchXs, etc.)

Lead technology aspects of interactions with strategic vendors

Acting as strong member of the Architecture Council

REQUIREMENTS

For this position, you are quailifed as follows:

- Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience in computer sciences, software engineering or similar, with 10 - 15 YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL IT EXPERIENCE
- 5+ YEARS EXPERIENCE IN PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY and clinical life cycle
- Significant prior EXPERIENCE AS SENIOR ARCHITECT AT FUNCTION OR PROGRAM LEVEL and demonstrated technical leadership in large scale business customer facing programs, with in-depth skill in multiple technology and business domains
- Strong analytical, coordination and communication skills, strategic mindset and ability to define and implement new concepts and practices
- Experience in leadership and development of project, functional or virtual teams
- Experience with Information Architecture concepts (eg CRUD, Master Data, Business Warehouse, Canonicals) and understanding of semantic technologies and data analytics
- Experience in ECM solutions (EMC preferred) and Search Platforms (GSA preferred)
- Fluent English skills (written and spoken), further languages is a plus
- Flexibility to travel for up to 20% of time including outside of home country, as well as flexibility for periodic work outside of normal working hours in support of global collaborations
- Swiss or EU national or existing Swiss permit
