Solution Architect - CSS portfolio - Contract - Brussels

Description
Based on the needs of the business and the B-IT strategy, it is responsible for designing, monitoring and further optimizing the IT solutions with regard to the assigned projects and for the domain in general.
This is based on a broad experience in IT technologies as well as knowledge of physical security.
The focus is therefore not on IT security, but on IT software for physical security.

Dimensions (main qualitative and quantitative data):
1. Has a good knowledge of the business domain, the processes of the sub-domains the market.
2. Can make the translation process from functional needs to a technical solution
3. Is Embedded in the competence center for the business domain that forms his/her expertise
4. Understands IT solutions from the level of edge devices and mobile devices, over OS, standard (cloud software), management solutions, connectivity options up to the level of SW developments with underlying technologies for integration with other IT solutions.

Job description
- Depart from the functional requirements, propose solution designs within the assigned projects that meet the business needs. This solution should be in line with the architectural guidelines, the IT Roadmap and the strategic vision.
- Ensure that solutions presented by the functional analysts and developers fit in a sustainable way in the predefined architectural framework/Roadmap within the assigned projects.
- Acts as a coach and sounding board for the functional analysts when drafting the functional requirements and the developers in the technical elaboration of the functional requirements for the assigned projects.
- Identifies the integration needs when working out the solution design and creates a strategy of data migration & integration
- Responsible for the elaboration of the architectural standards and standards at the level of the application (s) and the dissemination of the enterprise architecture vision within the organization.
- Proactively submitting improvement proposals to optimize the maintainability, stability and performance of applications/services.

2. Communication and Consultation
Actively communicate and organize consultation with the parties involved with the aim of creating support and actively bridging the distance between technical and functional stakeholders.
- Provides feedback to developers/technical lead regarding the functionalities of the developed application

3. Knowledge regarding the field
Keeping track of trends and developments in the field to pursue a performant and coherent IT architecture that is in line with both the IT strategy and the evolution of the field.

- Actively stimulating knowledge sharing
- Monitor the quality of the documentation with regard to the applications used
- Follow-up of market developments
- Make an active contribution to the changes that are necessary for the further professionalisation and increase the quality of the service.

Requirements:
- Knowledge of business processes that encompass the entire organization
- Is able to adapt flexibly to new, unknown contacts and convince them of his/her expertise
- Expands his/her network within the NMBS organization with a view to improving the solutions within his/her domain.

Language skills: Fluent English and French or Dutch, spoken & written
