Solution Architect, Alicante/Spain

An exciting opportunity is now available for a

SOLUTION ARCHITECT

in Alicante/Spain. This role is located in the public sector and is available through an IT Services Company.

We are looking for candidates with the following profile:

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

- At least 6 YEARS of JAVA/J2EE experience in an application development environment (or similar);
- Min. 2 YEARS of experience working as a SOFTWARE ARCHITECT;
- Experience developing data-intensive highly-concurrent Java applications within a J2EE APP SERVER framework;
- Perfect understanding of how TRANSACTION management, MESSAGING AND DATA ACCESS works in a J2EE environment;
- Experience with deployment and PACKAGING STRATEGIES for app server based applications
- Experience with LEGACY TYPE SYSTEMS maintenance/upgrade;
- Experience of FORMAL ARCHITECTURAL METHODOLOGIES including TOGAF and/or ZACHMAN;
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to propose suitable architectural solutions.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

- In-depth knowledge of JAVA/J2EE (including J2EE APPLICATION SERVERS);
- Continuous Integration - MAVEN, ANT, HUDSON, etc.;
- SOA solutions on ORACLE and BEA platforms;
- RDBS - INFORMIX, ORACLE and MYSQL. 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

- Fluent/advanced ENGLISH;
- SPANISH is considered an asset, but is not mandatory.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BE EXPECTED TO PERFORM THE FOLLOWING TASKS (NON-EXHAUSTIVE LIST):

- Developing architectural roadmaps and production of various application solution designs and the governance of their implementation;
- Ensure cohesion and governance of the end-to-end project architecture;
- Ensure that the solution meets the guidelines and passes through the required governance process;
- Communicate the architecture design to key stakeholders;
- Work with 3rd parties and stakeholders to understand and incorporate the company strategy into the solution.

This position is offered as a FREELANCE contract.
