Solution Architect, Alicante

An exciting opportunity is currently available in Alicante, Spain for a SOLUTION ARCHITECT. This position is located in the Public Sector through an IT Service Provider.

We are looking for candidates with the following profile:

GENERAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

- 6+ years Java/J2EE experience.
- 2+ years of experience as a Software Architect.
- Experience working with 3rd parties and stakeholders to understand and incorporate the company strategy into the solution and therefore developing a solution that has a direct impact on the improvement of the IT strategy.
- Experience with Legacy type systems maintenance/upgrade.
- Demonstrable, strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to propose suitable architectural solutions
- Experience developing architectural roadmaps.
- Experience in SOA solutions on Oracle and BEA platforms.
- Experience with formal architectural methodologies including TOGAF and/or Zachman.
- Experience developing data intensive, highly concurrent Java applications within a J2EE App Server framework.
- Understand perfectly how transaction management, messaging and data access works in a J2EE environment.
- Understand common design and architectural patterns used in these types of applications.
- Experience with deployment and packaging strategies for app server based applications
- Experience with RDBs, especially Informix, Oracle and/or MySQL.
- Experience with Continuous Integration (Maven, Ant, Hudson, etc ).

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for the production of various application solution designs and the governance of their implementation.
- Expected to ensure cohesion and governance of the end to end project architecture.
- Responsible for ensuring that the solution meets the guidelines and passes through the required governance process.
- Responsible for communicating the architecture design to key stakeholders.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

- Fluent in English
- Knowledge of Spanish would be considered an advantage

The position is offered as a long-term freelance contract.
