Solution Architect

An opportunity exists for a Solutions Architect to start with my client ASAP! You will be responsible for data warehouse solution design including specification of data infrastructure, schemas, ETL mappings and data transformations, integration of diverse data sources into the enterprise data warehouse consistent with the Enterprise Data Model and for the design of business facing objects (including data marts) to meet documented requirements.

Main responsibilities:

- Analyse and participate in information architecture and conversion design and application requirements gathering sessions
- Model EDW interfaces.
- Analyse and profile source systems to determine the relationships of data between various source systems.
- Integration of the data from different source systems into a single data repository.
- Maintenance of a normalised data model to accommodate integrated data at an enterprise level.
- Design of the data mart and ODS schemas where applicable to support reporting requirements.
- Develop and maintain Datamodelling and naming standards.
- Develop mapping specifications for ETL developers at an attribute level.
- Review application and technical architecture deliverables throughout development to ensure quality and requirement traceability

Your skills:

- Minimum 5 years Data Warehouse/Data Mart (Dimensional Modelling) Solution Design
- Extensive data warehouse architecture knowledge including star schema, ODS, extract methodologies.
- Extensive experience in logical and physical relational database analysis, design and engineering including traditional Entity-Relationship Modelling.
- Strong dimensional modelling skills with attention to determining and applying level of detail, aggregation, summarisation, etc. with consideration for optimal performance
- Datamodelling (or CASE) Tool experience using modelling tools such as ERWIN, Enterprise Architect, etc.
- Strong knowledge of Informatica ETL process architecture, design and implementation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Source System Data Analysis & Data Profiling skills
- Experience and/or knowledge of multiple BI/DW platforms (SAP BW, Oracle, Cognos, Informatica, Microsoft BI Suite etc.) and the role of data warehouse architecture in supporting BI platforms.
- Self initiative and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical users.
