Be leading in creative processes for innovation projects

Design and development of parts and assemblies and production of associated drawings using SolidWorks;

Ensuring that systems are designed and developed with the appropriate attention to detail and quality levels and that they are fully verified and validated against the customer requirements;

Ensure that the lab facilities have the appropriate prototyping tools together with the Lab manager and/or maintain external contacts for this purpose

Responsible for building prototypes (with proto machines and in workshop) and testing the parts or systems in a lab environment, evaluating and iterating on the design until the team are satisfied with the robustness and quality of the system;

Accurate and detailed report writing on evaluation of existing samples and returns and an ability to provide innovative solutions to issues that may arise;

Work and liaise with suppliers and internal groups as needed during the development phase of a project to ensure quality levels and adequate control are maintained through the development process.

Ensure that complete specification package (drawings, quality plans, test requirements) is produced to provide to the sourcing teams and Value chain at the completion of the project;

Control of documentation and ECN releases to suppliers.

Mentor and coach (junior) engineers

REQUIREMENTS

Skills and Experience:

Must be proficient in the use of solid works CAD system modelling;

Good knowledge of 3D prototyping technologies;

Proven project delivery record;

Experience of project management processes and working with external design resource;

Detailed understanding of and experience with plastics manufacturing processes, such as injection and blow moulding processes and design for injection and blow moulding;

Good knowledge of mechanical design principles;

Understanding of flow properties of fluids;

5-10 years experience working within a design team and with external partners in a similar subject area (dispensing system, medium to large scale consumer goods/packaging);
Manage a small design team

Good management skills to prioritise work and ensure timely delivery of projects;
Fluent in English;
Creative and innovative.
