POSITION OVERVIEW

Seeking an experienced professional with Network Management and Monitoring systems administration experience.  The SolarWinds Systems Administrator will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, and support for monitoring of the infrastructure and application environments. This includes the monitoring of hardware (ie network, storage, and virtual Servers) and proprietary hosted applications. This position will work with others to design, build, implement, and maintain the monitoring configurations needed for their systems, as well as train other personnel on the monitoring tools and how to best use them.  

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform day-to-day administration of SolarWinds Orion monitoring tools.
- Provide technical support to ensure monitoring performance.
- Monitor SolarWinds activity to ensure optimum uptime and performance in a proactive manner.
- Perform implementation, maintenance and upgrades of monitoring tool.
- Work directly with NOC Manager on day-to-day activities.
- Provide expert knowledge of network management tools, designs and plans the presentation of data to improve the efficiency in performing daily operations and proactive monitoring of the network.
- Assist in expert troubleshooting of network-related problems and monitoring of the network.
- Manage upgrades of network management products, Servers and Operating Systems to maintain integrity of network management systems and products.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- 2+ years of experience with monitoring tools and systems (especially SolarWinds Orion software  including Network, Storage Application and Web modules)
- Some NOC experience working in a  Level 1 or 2 support role
- Knowledge of basic network  protocols
- Knowledge of server OS and Windows applications
- Knowledge or understanding of  SNMP, Syslog, IP Addressing
- Ability to multitask and  prioritize work requirements
- Cisco CCNA and CCNP certification a plus
