Solaris Systems Programmer

Solaris Systems Programmer Contractor is required for our client a global organisation and a leading player in their field based in the Midlands. 6 Month contract, flexible on rate depending on experience.

MAIN PURPOSE

The installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring and maintenance of Sun Solaris components and Sun hardware to deliver the operational systems and the pre-production environments.

Implementation of new projects and ongoing technical support of Servers utlilising utilising Solaris OS, adhering to the incident, problem and escalation processes. Regular communication with end users, colleagues, management and external suppliers worldwide regarding implementation of the Sun infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

- Prior experience in Sun Solaris and hardware implementation and administration including the full project life cycle
- Proven experience within a support environment.
- Proven strong administration/support skills on Solaris and Oracle (Sun) hardware
- Proven experience with Symantec Storage Foundation and Storage Foundation/HA
- Ability to assess and diagnose problems and requirements for production systems, identify root causes of technical issues, and recommend and/or implement solutions.
