Solaris or Red Hat Linux Administrator

Position Description:

- Perform application and operating system troubleshooting on both Solaris  and Linux environments
- Perform Shell Scripting and creation of moderately complex SQL Queries
- Install application software releases/updates into production working closely with System Administration, Development, Change Management, Database Administration and Production Support
- Monitor production environments for all assigned applications and work as part of a cross functional team to resolve any system abends or operational issues
- Support and improve on existing monitoring and alarm capabilities for assigned applications
- Provide 2nd level support for all operations specific inquiries, tickets and/or service requests related to assigned applications

Position requirements:

- 5+ years. of experience in Solaris and/or Linux System Administration
- Basic telecommunications and wireless industry knowledge
- 5+ years of experience working with Sun One Application, Web and Proxy Servers
- 5+ years of experience working with Unix Shell Scripting ksh, PHP or Perl
- 5+ years of experience writing complex Oracle PL/SQL queries
- Experience with Weblogic Server would be a plus
- Experience with Oracle WebCenter would be a plus
- Experience with Veritas Cluster Server would be plus
- Must have general knowledge of Networks, VPN and be able to distinguish between an application vs. network proble
- Experience providing CSS/ACE Support would be a plus
- Must have a working knowledge of Information Security concepts including security policies, standards and guidelines
