LINUX SOLARIS ENGINEER

Experienced Engineers with LINUX/UNIX SOLARIS experience requuired for urgent contract roles working in the UK and Netherlands

As an L3 Solaris Engineer, you will be working on implementation and support projects in a major client environment, working with Linux/Unix Solaris systems and Oracle SOlaris integrations.

The iseal Engineer will have experience in some/all of the below:

- Excellent knowledge of various versions of Linux and of Unix (Solaris Operating systems - 8, 9 10, 11).
- This role is to work closely with UNIX migration team and have done data centre migration projects.
- Excellent knowledge on SVM, VxVM.
- Good Knowledge about Oracle Solaris Cluster, Oracle VM technology. Assessment of Solaris Servers and related infrastructure including OS installation and configuration, Mirror configuration, Cluster configuration, backups, Flash Archive, Storage, Application and Network dependencies.
- Good knowledge on how to, on migrating unsupported Solaris Operating systems.
- Good Knowledge about various services running on Solaris Servers.
- Migrate the Solaris server across data centres using Oracle VM technology like LDOM and Containers
- Migrate physical Servers to Virtual Servers using P2V and/or other technologies.
- Good Understanding DNS, DHCP, Network services and various network components
- Good understanding of various storage technologies including Hitachi, NetApps, Oracle storage, etc.
- Prepare report on Solaris Servers.
- Have Created Technical Design, Implementation Schedules and associated test plans
- Work closely with UNIX engineering and third party vendors.
- Experience with systems administration: upgrades, patching and configuration management, performance management, troubleshooting, analysis and capacity planning.
