Software Validation Engineer Job

SOFTWARE VALIDATION ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Mountain View, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- You will be executing test procedures, test programs and scripts
- Perform validation testing on whole systems
- Specifically running test and escalating failures, debugging to identify where problem is coming from and reporting status.
- Responsible for writing test reports, reporting bugs, and doing first level triage.
- Work in conjunction with Dev, and SW teams who develop the hardware, apps, and environment to be executed.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Five (5) plus years of experience in software validation and White Box testing
- Experience with system level testing with constantly updating drivers and test apps. Experience in digging deep into what caused failures as they arise, ie: HW, test condition, SW, or app
- Working with testing systems (ie - PCs) on a large scale and managed the automated test execution as well as log file collection, parsing, and analysis.
- Must be able to manage concurrent testing of multiple projects at a fast pace all while doing so in a careful and efficient manner.
- Strong documentation and communication
- BSCS (Computer Science) or BSEE (Electrical Engineering)

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Scripting in Perl, C# or C.
- Ability to use Perl to extract data from log box and format for data analysis and understanding test sequence
- Networking infrastructure knowledge
