Software V&V Engineer

Assystem are currently recruiting for Software V&V Engineers to join the Assystem team in South West UK. The role is an initial 6 month contract, excellent rates available.

The main responsibilities for the role are as follows:

1. Integration:
- Integration of component subsystems into a single system
- Configuration and development of integration rigs and tests in support of the integration.

2. Verification and Validation:
- Review and checking of component subsystem release information
- Authoring of test Specifications to verify correct system build
- Authoring of test Scripts to verify correct system build
- Execution of verification tests and associated completion of compliance matrix
- Authoring of test Specifications to validate system compliance
- Authoring of test Scripts to validated system compliance
- Execution of validation tests and associated completion of compliance matrix
- Use of configuration and change management.

Note that the engineering techniques involved rely upon a good understanding of UML and/or SysML with support from tool-sets such as IBM Rational DOORS® and Artisan Studio®.

Essential Requirements:
A formal qualification in a relevant engineering scientific or numerate discipline.
Knowledge of the systems engineering life-cycle cost awareness and awareness of processes involved in other engineering disciplines.
Knowledge in the application of verification and validation on complex software bases systems
Knowledge in the Requirements Management tools such as of DOORSTM and / or ARTISAN using SysML/UML.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Motivated dependable and self-reliant.

Desirable Requirements:
Experience in systems testing of safety-critical or safety-related systems.
Experience of working to industry quality and safety standards.
Experience in the acceptance activities of Signalling Systems Automatic Train Protection products or other large programmable electronic systems.

Roles:
One role exists requiring the above competencies:

(1) Trackside System Integration and V&V engineer - focusing on the testing of the new trackside signaling modules (HDM/FEP/RSA/IOM) on WESTLOCK Interlocking system as part of the overall Thameslink ERTMS system.
