Software Test Engineer Job

Software Test Engineer needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in San Diego, CA.

- Establish and maintain relationships with engineering, IT. and software development to resolve production support issues.
- Report on test activities
- Automate test cases using the Coded UI Framework within Visual Studio

What you'll be doing:

- On Occasion Provide 24/7 system support to resolve technical support issues for both internal and external applications.
- Research, evaluate, and document issues raised by production and/or customer support.
- Create custom support tools to analyze issues, as directed by manager.
- Operate a variety of laboratory instrumentation and simulators to perform integration testing, system testing, and functionality testing.
- Assist software developers and domain experts in designing, performing, and improving verification tests
- Work with scientists, technicians, engineers, marketing, and project management to deliver commercial and internal SW systems
- Work in Scrum (Agile) teams within the software group, closely coordinating with software developers, systems analysts, and software project managers

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- 1 - 2 years' operating, testing, and supporting SW for mechanical instrumentation
- 1-2 years' experience working in Software Quality Assurance or other areas of the SDLC to test Windows-based GUI systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, Agile (Scrum)
- Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Test Automation and Development skills Using Visual Studio, Coded UI, C# highly preferable Education
- 1 - 3 years of experience software troubleshooting required.
- 1-2 years' operating, testing, and supporting SW for mechanical instrumentation
- 1-2 years' experience working in Software Quality Assurance or other areas of the SDLC to test Windows-based GUI systems
- Experience with a major database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server)
- Ability to read C#, Java and other Object Oriented software development languages desired
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, Agile (Scrum)
- Experience working on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
- Education: BS in the computer science/Bioengineering/Bioinformatics desired
