Software Test Engineer

Our client is the Northwest's signature software company seeking a qualified STE for a contract position.

OVERVIEW

- Performs basic computer configuration and/or application compatibility testing.
- Executes prewritten manual test scripts and reports product anomalies when found.
- Writes test specifications, test cases and automation scripts.
- Runs automated test tools, compile and report results.
- Performs detailed analysis of test results and updates test cases/scripts accordingly.
- Narrows down problems to component module based on detailed analysis of test runs.
- Sets up complex hardware configurations, network technologies, OS and applications.
- Provides some bug prevention and/or proactive testing through product specification reviews.
- Performs repeatable testing procedures and processes, with excellent opportunity to demonstrate ad-hoc testing skills. Evaluates and reports test results

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- 1-2 years' experience with testing through at least one full professional software product development cycle
- Ability to write and read at least one high level programming language eg Cscript, Java, VBScript, C, C++
- WTT experience
- Demonstrated ability to define and use common terms and concepts for at least one operating system and environment
- Working knowledge of personal computer hardware and peripherals, OS, Application, software
- Ability to learn new information quickly
- Demonstrated investigative and problem solving skills
- Ability to report quality bugs
- Excellent written English communication skills
- Ability to use good judgment
