Software Quality Engineer Job

SOFTWARE QUALITY ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Hartford, WI.

TOP SKILLS SHOULD YOU POSSESS:

- Experience with Automated and Performance based testing for Web based applications
- Experience with C# and Java

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Create and execute manual, automated, performance and regression tests
- Track issues on through to resolution
- Troubleshoot complex issues using advanced testing techniques
- Interface with product and development teams to address bugs, enhancements and features.
- Manage test environments
- Actively Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on features and usability
- Outstanding team player with a positive can-do attitude
- Strong customer service attitude and eagerness to solve problems
- Test-to-break mentality and tireless pursuit of quality
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Fearless when it comes to trying out new approaches and concepts to improve productivity and efficiency
- Investigate and conduct root cause analysis of software and system defects
- Communicate test coverage, "red flags" and anomalies to aid in decision making
- Consistently raise the quality bar of the team
- Identify risks and prepare mitigation plans
- Ability to maintain a consistent test methodology and resolve questions and ambiguities
- Ability to influence management to ensure appropriate levels of quality
- Ability to create clarity in testing and level of quality of the product
- Performs other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar area of study is required.
- Must have seven to nine (7-9) years professional QA experience, including SaaS, Web and Client Server Application testing
- Experience with automated and performance based testing

- Adept at Agile methodologies and how QA fits in this paradigm
- Strong SDLC and QA methodology knowledge
- Ability to learn new technology quickly
- Must be flexible and able to apply a proper sense of urgency and commitment
- Must possess strong problem solving abilities, attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Must work well in both team environment and independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong background in Back End and database testing
- Innate understanding of complex software systems and ability to isolate & reproduce defects, and assess risk
- Must possess in-depth understanding of how systems and applications interact
- Familiarity with Java, SQL, Perl, Python or Shell Scripting
- Experience with Atlassian tools
- Ability to determine and follow through with creating automated tests using off-the-shelf automation tools
- Ability to design and create test automation tools
