Software Quality Assurance Tech

Our client is a hugely popular online retail company seeking talented QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEERS (QAE) to test core technologies used to build the next generation mobile device experience. You will design and define the QA processes, develop repeatable and automatable QA systems.

You will work with Product Managers, QAEs, SDETs, and SDEs to understand features and technical implementation. You will identify use cases and create test plans, define test strategies, and create manual and automated test cases in order to report to stakeholders on the quality and reliability of products across multiple languages and locales.

Can you integrate your QA strategy and execution plan with multiple software development teams at once? Are you able to quickly dive deep on localizability bugs to clarify exact reproduction steps and insure appropriate regression over time?

As a QAE, you are not a pure Black Box tester: you must be able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and automate repetitive tasks with Scripting tools or user-level automation tools. You are also the customer advocate and owner of the customer experience for our product.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or similar technical degree, or at least 5 years combination of technical education and work experience
- Minimum of 3 years of software testing experience
- Experience with test automation tools, schedulers, frameworks, and harnesses
- Fluent in at least one Scripting language, and the ability to read Java code
- Ability to understand functional/technical specifications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Fluency in at least one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, C#, or PERL
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Experience with mobile platforms and UI testing
- Proven experience in measuring and reporting quality and driving improvements across teams via consensus
- Experience designing and implementing test cases, running, and reporting on quality

This contract position is expected to be 6 months in duration.
