Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer Job

MID LEVEL SOFTWARE QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER (with Audio Codec, Video Codec testing experience) needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in San Mateo, CA.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Audio Codec, Video Codec testing experience
- Experience using Video Analyzer tools
- 264 format knowledge
- Media content conversion

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Perform Software QA testing for SDK projects: Video and Audio Codecs
- Create test plan and test cases; create test script in Python for automated testing purpose
- Create test report upon release. Interface directly with Engineers for troubleshooting and debugging activities.
- Develop Test plan, test cases and test reports for all level testing activities.
- Develop test scripts in Python or test programs for automated testing purpose
- Maintain bug database and interface with developers and customers.
- Working on multiple projects simultaneously

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Typically requires four to six (4-6) years of related experience
- Full understanding of area of specialization
- Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
- Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
- Perform testing activities for Video codecs development.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineer or equivalent is required.
- Typically requires four to seven (4-7) years of related IT experience within a technical discipline.
- Proficient in command-line utilities in Linux and Windows.
- Two (2) or more years of C and C++ programming experience is preferred.
- Two (2) or more years of testing automation by using Python is required.
- Four (4) plus more QA Testing experience in development environment.
- Audio Codec, Video Codec testing experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in using Video Analyzer is highly desirable
- 264 knowledge
- Experience with media content conversion
