Software QA Engineer - Contract role - Cork, Ireland

Exciting opportunity for a software QA Engineer 6-9 month contract role with my client in Cork.

You will be part of the team that is responsible for the software development of Cloud based services. You will monitor the daily progress against the project's backlog and will actively participate in the group and project meetings. You will also be responsible for assisting in the creation of project backlogs and general project design.

Specific Responsibilities/Functions

Responsible for the initial test planning, design, peer review, and execution of automated test suites in accordance to Sprint level tasks
Contribute in peer code reviews and retrospectives, to help progress, streamline and make our roles more efficient & productive as possible
Work within a dedicated agile team and utilize crucial communication with team members involved, to ensure features meet all acceptance test criteria identified, before considering the work completed for automation development

Experience, Knowledge and Skills
Software QA or Development experience
Good knowledge of Windows and Linux technologies with basic networking concepts
Automation capabilities in the languages of Java and Python
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

Advantageous:
Knowledge of Agile Methodologies
Knowledge of Perl Scripting
Delivery experience on Client Server products
Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 or later
Database testing experience
