Java Software Engineer - Melbourne FL

Maximum hourly pay rate $60.00 (this is for both straight and overtime work)

We are looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer to work with our Network Optimizations Product Development organization. This is a talented cross-functional group chartered with building and delivering new world class software products to our railway customers. Our optimization and planning products improve the railroad's efficiency and network capacity. Responsibilities:
- Translate vision and requirements from Product Owner into design and quality working software
- Deliver high quality products leveraging quality minded best practices (eg test driven development) and tools such as static, dynamic, coverage, and complexity analysis
- Participate in Daily Scrum Meetings, Demos, Retrospectives, and Sprint Planning activities

Essential Requirements/Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Java EE version 5 or above
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software design and development efforts
- Experience with creative user experience and interface design concepts and standards
- Experience with Unix or Linux
- Ability to creatively solve complex problems with simple solutions

Desired Skills:
- Strong knowledge of JPA or Hibernate
- Experience with following technologies: EJB 3, JMS, GWT, JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS
- Experience with web service technologies: SOAP, WSDL, XSD, XSLT
- Experience with Enterprise Service Bus technology, JBoss SOA-P is preferred
- Experience and understanding of Service Oriented Architecture and design
- Experience with system testing processes, tools & automation
- Experience with agile/scrum development process
