Software Engineer/Product Developer Job

SOFTWARE ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Kansas City, MO.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Leads the development of cost-effective information technology solutions by creating new, and modifying existing, software applications.
- Analyzes complex systems requirements, existing business processes, and information systems.
- Codes, tests, and debugs documents, and implements software applications. Undertakes complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge.
- Coordinates with users to determine requirements that are more complex.
- This team focuses on creating innovative products and services delivered to mobile devices.
- We are seeking individuals that are passionate about the mobile experience and have a unique drive to develop apps that are both fun and intuitive.
- Working familiarity with the SCRUM methodology is a plus.
- All work is to be completed in our office in downtown Kansas City.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's degree and four years related work experience or eight (8) years of related work experience post high school
- Three (3) years of systems development, coding and software application experience
- Five (5+) years of experience with Java.
- Expertise with wireless Client Server architecture.
- Experience developing Server Side apps exporting web services (eg REST, JSON, XML).
- Experience developing Web services, XML, Object Oriented Design, Design patterns, Networks, TCP/IP, UNIX, Eclipse, and Source code version control systems (SVN, GIT).
- Expertise in writing complex ANSI SQL queries with Oracle, MySQL databases.
- Familiarity with Hadoop a plus.
- Experience with NoSQL databases a plus.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience integrating mobile apps with web services (eg REST, JSON, XML).
- Three (3+) years of experience with Embedded or mobile application development.
- Experience developing mobile apps using Android or iOS.
- Good understanding of HTML5, Javascript, CSS, XHTML and other web technologies.
- Be self-motivated and work in a rapidly changing environment sometimes with little direction.
- Ability to provide input on prioritization of features with strong sense of user-centered design.
- Ability to investigate another developer's code, understand it, critique it and continue development on the application.
