SOFTWARE ENGINEER - JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA

THIS REQUIREMENT IS FOR ONE OF THE LEADING PROVIDER OF TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE AND ANALYTICS TO THE RAILROAD INDUSTRY. OPTIMIZATION SOLUTIONS OFFERS INTEGRATED RAIL TRANSPORTATION SOLUTIONS FOR ENTERPRISE-WIDE DATA INTEGRATION AND SHARING AND SOLVES THE WORLD\'S TOUGHEST RAIL TRANSPORTATION CHALLENGES BY LEVERAGING IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF RAIL OPERATIONS, INTERMODAL TERMINAL OPERATING SYSTEMS, AND MULTI-MODAL TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT TO PROVIDE SOFTWARE AS A SERVICE AND LICENSED SOLUTIONS TO RAILROADS AND INDUSTRIAL SHIPPERS.

The Software Engineer will provide direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role, you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. In this role, you will:

Work in an environment of developers who use open-source development tools

Use strong Unix skills and full project life cycle experience

Participate in the design, development, and implementation of dynamic web applications and mobile applications

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Software Engineering

Experience with Perl on Web Applications (Object Oriented Design)

Experience with Python using Django or Qt

Experience with HTML5, AJAX, and Modern JavaScript Toolkits (jQuery, ExtJS, Dojo)

Experience with MVC Frameworks (Catalyst, Template Toolkit, Django)

Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL database

Experience with Revision Control (Hg, Git, CVS)

Experience with Scrum/Agile development

Client relation experience
