Software Engineer Linux

SOFTWARE ENGINEER FOLSOM, CA CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

JOB DUTIES:

- Linux OS installations and basic configuration
- Hardware landings- systems are racked, powered, have network access, appropriate hard disk configurations, enabled for remote access, etc.
- Hardware troubleshooting- resolving boot time and performance issues with various Linux kernels
- Participation in daily status update meetings

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Linux administration, especially familiar with Xen under Fedora
- Fundamentals of hardware hosting
- Hardware (server) support
- Strong, crisp communication skills

PREFERRED SKILLS:

- Experience with Agile methodologies and working as part of an Agile team
- Familiarity with Ubuntu
