Software Engineer - ETL/Teradata Job

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER - ETL TERADATA to join our client in the Weldon Spring, Missouri area.

Job Responsibilities
- The Revenue Management team is in need of a Sr. S/E - ETL/Teradata. This resource needs to have extensive experience with Teradata which also means having worked in environments with large amounts of complicated data.
- This contractor can work at either Clayton or Weldon Spring and the client is potentially open to a remote solution for the right person. The interview process will start with phone interviews.
- Primary role will be application development and maintenance of programs to extract data from a variety of operational sources for loading into the Data Warehouse and to integrate/aggregate data for reporting and analytical needs.
- The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for developing prototypes and performing complex application coding and programming.
- This position interprets end-user business requirements to develop and/or modify technical design specifications for off-the-shelf and/or custom-developed applications.
- The Senior Software Engineer also analyzes and reviews software requirements to determine feasibility of a design within time and cost restraints.
- In addition, this position performs unit and integration testing and assists with developing unit test scripts.
- The Senior Software Engineer provides instruction and guidance to less senior team members on new tasks and assignments.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess three to five (3 - 5) years of experience in working in a large scale computing and/or networking environment.
- Strong SQL skills are a must.
- Unix experience is strongly preferred.
- Must have knowledge and prior use of Teradata, and SAS ETL tools (SAS DI, Base SAS)
- Having experience with SAS as an ETL tool is a huge plus but other ETL tools are okay.
- Must possess a minimum of three to five (3 - 5) years of experience with SQL, UNIX operating system and PERL Scripting language.
- Must have prior application and database performance tuning experience
- Must be versed in multiple and various programming languages
- Knowledge and use of Tivoli Workload Scheduler are plus.
- Knowledge and use of ClearCase or other versioning tools are plus.
- Candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications skills for technical and non-technical content.
- Successful candidates will be both diplomatic and persuasive.
